Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
We all experience times when we feel spiritually dry, empty and unproductive. However, that should not be the normal condition for the believer. God desires to be active in the lives of His people. Psalm 46 expresses trust and confidence in God during a time when the situations of life are not stable or secure. But, the power and ability to face difficulties and uncertainties of life are found in God! The word “refuge” gives the picture of a shelter from danger. God is our true security in the storms of life! The word “strength” refers to His power when we are battling spiritual enemies! If we patiently trust God, He will reveal that power through us so that we overcome the obstacles of life! And the end result is that God is “a very present help in trouble”! He is available and wants His people to call on Him in times of need. For His power and presence are ENOUGH to handle any situation! Comments are closed.
